Bill Solomon

On Wednesday, June 6th, The Osvita Foundation Incorporated is sponsoring its Annual Testimonial Dinner at which time it recognizes individuals for their outstanding community service, charitable contributions and for enhancing and supporting the promotion of Ukrainian language, culture and history.

 The Osvita Foundation Inc. was established in 1982 as a charitable organization and is committed to supporting excellence in education through the promotion of the English Ukrainian Bilingual Program (EUBP) and Manitoba Parents for Ukrainian Education.  At this year’s testimonial dinner the Osvita Foundation is pleased to honour Mr. Bill Solomon for his immense contributions to Ukrainian Choral Music in Manitoba. Mr. Solomon has been involved in Ukrainian Choral Music for more than 60 years.  He has conducted such choirs as Hoosli Ukrainian Male Chorus, O. Koshetz Choir, Holy Trinity Cathedral Ladies and Youth Choirs. He was one of the founding members of the Ukrainian Choral Federation of Canada and he served as an assistant in the Department of Liturgical Music at St. Andrew’s College at the University of Manitoba.  He has been recognized with several honours and awards over the past years. For over 60 years Mr. Solomon has been encouraging and developing the musical talents and ability of many of our talented Ukrainian voices.  The Board of Directors of the Osvita Foundation invites you to join us in honouring Bill Solomon on June 6 at Canad Inns Polo Park.   Please find enclosed a ticket order form which you may use to purchase your ticket and reserve your place at our 2012 Testimonial Dinner. Tickets may also be purchased at our office, 1215-F Henderson Highway by calling in advance.  There will be a Silent Auction featuring donations of art works from prominent Ukrainian artists and a Fundraising Raffle. Donations and contributions will be published in the event program and made available to the public. Please feel free to contact our office at (204) 942-5405 with any questions.
